Work with an experienced potter to improve your throwing skills, focusing on throwing more consistently, and throwing bigger, with this 6-week term for intermediate potters. You will practice skills that allow for greater mastery of the clay, including throwing consistent forms and larger work, and guidance/mentoring with a project of your design. The class provides an opportunity to receive support on intermediate techniques such as lids and galleries, double-walled vessels, and joining two pieces to make larger work.

This is a small class, limited to five students. Your facilitator has been potting for over two decades, and has opened her personal studio to small classes since 2020.

What's included?
Guests enrolled in this class will receive 6 sessions of studio time and mentoring, up to 15kg midfire clay, and bisque firing of work created in class. This program will not include glaze or glaze firing in the fee, as a number of previous and returning guests have purchased their own glaze for use. To simplify, those wishing to glaze their work using studio glazes may attend an 7th session at an additional cost to be paid on the day. High temperature glaze firing for work made during the program can be purchased additionally.

Guests who have not attended a term at this studio previously will also be given a basic set of pottery tools. Guests will also have access to a dedicated pottery wheel and required tools, storage, and workspaces. This term class is designed for hobby potters, and not production potters, as there is limited space to store and fire large amounts of work.

Refunds and cancellations:

• More than two weeks before the first class - 100% of course cost minus payment platform fees, or transfer to a future course of equal or lesser cost within the following 6 months.
• 8 - 14 days before the first class - 50% of course cost refunded, or transfer to a future course of equal or lesser cost within the following 6 months.
• 0-7 days before the first class - no refund issued, no transfer to future course allowed, however booked classes can be transferred by the original purchaser to another person one time.

COVID Interruptions:

• QLD Government restrictions that result in classes being cancelled will activate a partial refund on undelivered classes on a pro-rata basis. Students can arrange to collect their work as it exists at that stage. Alternatively, in these circumstances students can opt for the instructor to glaze and fire their kiln-ready pieces for a flat fee of $75 to be deducted from their pro-rata refund. Please note that refunds are not offered for students who cannot attend due to Covid isolation or other illness if classes are run as scheduled.
